This first summer Western Gull was literally about six inches from my plate of fresh smoked fish and was quite respectful by not diving in for a treat. The patience of this young gull was impressive. It did not matter that there had been people milling about. I was able to capture this image by that waiting patience at The Tides Wharf in Bodega Bay, California. O.K., I gave in...look at that pleading look!
